At Floor D?cor, we learned that FEMA is planning on revising the current flood insurance rate maps for areas within our state, and this includes Orange, CT. This is an important issue for all homeowners in our area. Local meeting are scheduled to help homeowners better understand what is happening. The meetings will be held from 4 to 7 pm at these locations. Monday, March 27, 2017 - North Haven, Town Hall, 18 Church Street, second floor conference room; and Tuesday, March 28, 2017 - Bristol, Main Library, 5 High Street, meeting room 3.
According the press release, local homeowners (and business owners) should bring to the meetings their current elevation certificates and/or flood insurance policies to get the best information on how their flood insurance rates may be changing due to the revised maps and flood insurance program changes.
