Carpet stores in CT are concerned about this, too, because when floods happen, flooring is often one of the most damaged parts of homes and businesses. We hate it when flooding happens, but we know it does happen, and we are always ready to help those whose homes or businesses are affected with damaged flooring.

While it is certainly true that all types of flooring can be damaged by water, a few types of flooring are especially susceptible to water. Two of those are hardwood flooring and carpeting. Wood and water do not play well with each other. If your hardwood flooring is exposed to standing water, that water is likely to get into the wood fibers. That can lead to warping, buckling, and separation of planks. Carpet can also be ruined if it, too, is left under standing water. The problems of water on carpet are numerous, and damage to the sub-floor can also cause homeowners and businesses problems.

Most quality carpet stores in CT can answer any questions that you may have about your flooring, and that includes our professionals at Floor D?cor in Orange, CT.
