It has been a while in the making, but the Mark Twain House and Museum is getting some much needed work and renovation. This is great news for all those who love this author and plan to visit the historic home and grounds. We learned of these renovations in a recent story:
?The Mark Twain House and Museum is in the midst of a renovation project officials hope will help in boosting the number of visitors to what was, for nearly two decades, home to the famed author and his family in Hartford?s Asylum Hill neighborhood. There are three phases of the project: a guest suite dubbed the mahogany room, a carriage house barn, and infrastructure upgrades, according to museum executive director Cindy Lovell.?

The story goes on to say that the project is funded (at least in part) by $2.2 million in grant funds from the state Bond Commission. Work should be completed by the end of the year.
