Floor Decor Design Center was founded in 1998 by Michael Phoenix, whose passion for flooring began all the way back in 1973-not behind a desk, but on the job as an installer.

After years of hands-on installation work, Michael went on to represent major flooring manufacturers in sales and management roles, gaining a deep understanding of both the product and the customer. His unique experience-working from the ground up, quite literally-shaped the foundation of Floor Decor: a business committed to expert guidance, quality craftsmanship, and truly personal service.

In 2002, Michael's daughter Janine joined the company, bringing fresh perspective and the same dedication to customer care. Over the years, she helped grow Floor Decor into one of Connecticut's most trusted flooring showrooms-and today, Janine is the majority owner, proudly continuing the family legacy while leading the company into its next chapter.

Together, this father-daughter team has built something special: a place where customers feel cared for, where every detail matters, and where decades of experience guide every recommendation.
